About this shrimp
Add a mix of colorful freshwater shrimp to your tank. Confetti Mix Shrimp is a playful Tails & Fin choice for anyone who enjoys spotting different colors among their plants.
Is this right for me?
A choice for a tank that is already set up and cycled. Read the setup steps below before adding shrimp.
Getting your tank ready
Use an aquarium that has completed its cycle: helpful bacteria in the filter must be established to break down animal waste. A newly filled tank is not ready for animals just because the water looks clear. Keep water conditions steady and add plants or hiding places. Offer small portions of shrimp food alongside the tiny food particles they pick from surfaces, and remove leftovers.
Keeping it with other animals
Choose gentle fish and other animals carefully: fish may eat baby shrimp. Neocaridina is the group these colorful shrimp belong to. Different colors can breed together, so keep one color per tank if you want babies to keep that color.
What you get
Packs of 5, 10 or 20 young adults, approximately 1/2–3/4 inch. Exact color combinations are not selectable.
A closer look
Mixed-color Neocaridina; at least three colors per pack. Colors and varieties are selected by Tails & Fin.
Water details explained
Reference values from the product information: temperature 68–74°F; pH (acidity) 7.0–7.2; GH (general water hardness) 7–8; KH (buffering capacity, which helps keep pH steady) 3–4; TDS (total dissolved solids, a measure of dissolved substances) 200–250. These describe reference water conditions, not every condition the shrimp can tolerate. Keep changes gradual.

Live animals travel best when someone is home: bring the box inside as soon as it arrives and keep it out of the sun or cold.
Live Arrival Guarantee. If an eligible animal arrives dead, take a photo in the unopened bag and one on a paper towel, then email hello@tailsandfin.com within 12 hours of delivery. Snails can rest up to 5 days and plants about 15 days to settle. Read the full policy.
Acclimating: float the closed bag for 15 to 20 minutes, then add a little tank water every few minutes for 30 to 60 minutes (shrimp like it slow), net them into the tank and pour the bag water away. Keep the lights low for the rest of the day.
Why Tails & Fin
Shop with peace of mind
Start small with hardy species: a few cherry shrimp or nerite snails, plus moss and low-light plants. They are forgiving while you learn, and we are happy to help you plan the first week.
